MAGA-Free Warwick NY started as a Facebook group in January of 2026. We are a community discussion group for the Town of Warwick, NY and neighboring towns and communities. We have thousands of members, the majority of whom are residents of Warwick, residents of a neighboring town, or “expats” who grew up here but moved away.
Our name refers to fact that our Facebook group does not tolerate any pro-MAGA messaging. We are not on a quest to rid our community of MAGA supporters, although we certainly welcome everyone in our community to wake up and abandon the toxic poison that is MAGA thinking.
MAGA-Free Warwick NY is not affiliated with any other group or organization. While our members and moderators may overlap with the Warwick Democratic Committee, the two are separate entities and the Democratic Committee does not participate in managing the MAGA-Free Warwick NY page.

Why a MAGA-free Facebook group?
Warwick has several active community groups on Facebook, but for years participants have encountered a troubling pattern: A community group would say they have a firm “no politics” rule, but that rule was rarely enforced when people posted right-wing MAGA content. Only when a participant posted a more left-leaning or anti-MAGA comment would the “no politics” rule be enforced. Either the comment would be deleted, or the post would be removed entirely. This was very frustrating, and allowed MAGA-friendly messaging to be posted but never challenged.
The final straw came when one particular group, “Warwick Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” deleted a post warning about ICE/CBP activity in the area. Group administrators classified this as “politics” and removed it.
Warwick Village resident Chris Keelty wondered what could possibly be more helpful to neighbors than warning them about something so hazardous to their safety. His frustration led him to start the MAGA-Free Warwick, NY page. It was immediately a hit, growing to more than 1,000 members in under a month.
Soon after, others volunteered their time and expertise as moderators: Don Kilcoyne, Audrea Milewski, and Lauren Vitkovsky, all Warwick residents who are aligned against the MAGA movement and want to make Warwick a more welcoming, tolerant place. Their work has shaped our group into something productive, respectful, and thoughtful. We have drawn the ire of several right-wing neighbors, but welcomed many more who align with us.
Since then we have seen others start MAGA-Free groups for their communities, which we think is a wonderful thing. MAGA is a disease that pollutes and decays a person’s mind, turns them against their friends and family and neighbors, and divides America. The MAGA movement is an openly fascist hate group that advocates for the end of American democracy, undermines the Constitution, and threatens everything America is supposed to stand for.
If we can provide a safe space for community members to connect, free of MAGA bullying and disinformation, that is a good thing for all of our communities.
